Detox and Rehab Centers...

How to check them out and PLEASE use gut instincts even if you doubt yourself... believe in yourself. The facility I walked away from has complaints like this out there about it-

_________________ Hospital I was admitted, assigned a room, made to strip down for a Nude Full-Body Inspection. For the Inspection I was taken into the bathroom in the room I was assigned (to share with a Schitzophrenic Patient) and told by an Employee (with questionable eyesight, qualification and authority) to remove all my clothes, lift both my breasts, squat several times and to bend over and touch my feet in front of her.

The following morning I was seen by the Evaluating Doctor who noted in my file 'Unfounded Report', 'Hospitalization Wasn't Necessary' that I 'Will Not' benefit from admission to their hospital program, prognosis 'Good'.

In spite of this a Social Worker stated that she would not risk her license and agree to my release regardless of what the Doctor thinks. That I obviously made the threat to that Medical Assistant or I would not be there. And with all the crying I was doing maybe I could use a break from my family.

She then told me that the only way to stop DHS from taking my children and placing them with other families was to stay for the entire 72-Hours. That i needed to decide what was more important: My Children or going home. Tell her and she would write that in my chart for the Courts.

~~~ Also, I was talking to my daughter and she said she has numerous acquaintances that have been 'brought' to places like this in our area and everyone of them have horror stories... SO Please be careful when seeking treatment.
If you won't to read my experiences over just the past few days... it's under subject "SO FRIGHTENED" I am so much less frightened of attempting to get sober on my own than of handing over my 'power' to others.
Anyone else with these types of experiences?
I am working on having under cover reports get involved. I am shocked at how degrading getting help can be. I have a letter I have started putting together to get it sent out to more than one media at a time.
Thanks for reading, I felt a bit off because it happened, I am glad I wasn't alone while it happened and had sane input when I needed to talk about it. Obviously, I still need to talk about it!
Busy travel week for me, thanks for asking and Congrats! That's terrific 6 weeks!
I am doing pretty good. I did have a few drinks while out, nothing that made me feel guilty, I did not over do it. I had 2 glasses of wine. It's amazing that after just 2 weeks, alcohol or for me wine is not at the forefront of my mind 24/7 like it was. Again, I still have no plan but know I don't want to drink near a pattern that I was keeping. Going to just see how I feel not having it often for now.
Still looking to curb my appetite, hopefully with less travel and being home to cook for myself I can get a handle on that this week. I stocked up on fruits and veggies!
