still addicteddd = /

Posted in Group:

i grew up knowing what it was.

it made people happy and it smelled good. thats all i really knew other than that it was a drug.

now i am addicted to that drug.

M A R I J U A N A

it is my best friend and my worse enemy.

i tried it for the first time wen i was 18. been in love ever since. no seriously if there was a way to just smoke and nothing else that would make my life.

but it doesnt work like that

we all have responsibilities whether it be as a parent, an employee or whatnot. everyone has responsibilites.

due to my mental illnesses i do not work. i do not drive. i do not have my own house. but all i want is to smoke.

i kno i need help but i am not ready to quit. y should i right? the mind of an addict tells me i will never quit. but i will go throughout life on and off pot.

i kno i could b out there doing so much worse but this does take its toll on my body.

i constantly struggle to breathe. and with every hit it only gets worse.

but yet i cannot stop. wht is wrong with me??????????

Hi. My name is sharon and i also live in ohio. The first time i had marijuana was at 19, and after smoking for a few years on and off for the last year and a half i have not gone more than a day or 2 without it. I don't have a job, and live with my mom. I feel dragged down by my addiction to it because it gives me a euphoria i don't get anywhere else. However I know i need to quit because it is damaging my personal life, ability to be independant and healthy but with 4 days sober it's all i can think about. Currently i am seeking out as much support from as many different places that i can find and keep my mind as occupied as possible. You are not alone!

when i quit smoking i go through a lot of symptoms. i will feel nauseated dizzy i will have a headache i go through hot and cold flashes i go to shakes and chills. it is very common when you are addicted to marijuana to go through withdrawls when not smoking. it will also effect your mood. you could be very depressed and even suicidal. you can go through lots of ups and downs when you are withdrawling. i was very emotional. alot of people believe that you can only withdrawl from certain drugs but in my opinion all drugs no matter how serious can cause withdrawls

scuba - I honestly always thought pot was NOT addictive. I have not smoked pot in a lot of years and vaguely recall a feeling of missing it (probably beer came first though).
But, I met with an addiction counselor a couple of weeks back - he asked re anything besides beer/booze. When I said - no nothing, I mentioned that I did not consider pot addictive. Immediately he mentioned the effects it has on the body, it's duration in your system, takes away your work ethic ...he wants me to view a health video on the topic.
