One thing I am going to do for Myself this week is ______.

Description:
I just got done talking to my friend who saw his therapist this morning for depression. His therapist recommended that he pick one thing a week that he does just for himself, something that he enjoys doing. He then looked over to me and asked what would be the one thing that I would choose to do for myself. I sat there and pondered for some time. What would I do for myself? I think many of us spend so much time doing things for our family and friends that we do not take the time for ourself. What are some things that you would do for yourself?

Mine would be:

NOTHING!

I look forward to doing nothing. Sitting in a chair or lying in a bed and doing, "Nothing".

I retired over a decade ago and this was one of the things I thought I would do often. It doesn't really work that way. Life gets in the way no matter how old you are.

So, I'm looking forward to nothing. Oh darn, just remembered, hubby will be home tomorrow. Maybe he will do nothing with me, or maybe he will do lots so that I can do nothing. He knows how to cook, so I may get fed while doing nothing.

Well, this week I have been trying to have just one day where I stay at home and not have to go anywhere and just chill. Hopefully today is that day but it is not over yet so who knows. It has been very cold this week where I live. I plan to in a little bit to kick back with a good book that I am reading and a hot bowl of soup and chill. We'll see.

sounds good to me! A hot bowl of soup sounds really nice right now! One thing I'm going to do for myself this week is read up more on my disorder and read, possibly write even, some poetry. I've been meaning to but keep procrastinating. ((hug))

These are some great things! bluidkiti you make a great point that sometimes doing nothing at all is the best thing you can do for yourself. I hope everyone takes time to do these things for themselves.
